Annette’s big break came when Benny Goodman chose her as his featured vocalist for his prestigious Rainbow Grill engagement, archived on the recently mastered Yale University Music Library Series. This performance launched Annette’s career as a much sought-after studio singer. Her distinctly recognizable sound has been heard on literally thousands of jingles, movie soundtracks and CDs.
She has worked with the “who’s who” of the music industry – from pop to jazz – Dionne Warwick, Mel Torme, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Gloria Estefan, and Barbra Streisand to name a few.
In 1996, the second of her four CDs, “On My Way To You” was nominated for a Grammy. That was followed by “Everything I Love”, a CD she recorded with noted Tony Bennett pianist/ arranger, Mike Renzi. Her latest recording is a duet CD with the late west coast pianist Bob Florence.”You Will Be My Music”.
Jazz great Dr. Billy Taylor, was the first to give air play to Joel’s first jazz album, “MOVE”, which was reissued in Japan. A contemporary of Bill Evans, Joel has entertained 5 presidents, is a pianist/bandleader for thousands of events, and has performed at concert venues in New York, Atlantic City, Las Vegas, Japan and Greece. NYC venues include: Windows On The World and The Rainbow Room. He has recorded four CD’s and holds a B.A. from New Jersey City University and an M.A. from Rutgers University. His latest recording, “Live At Steinway Piano Gallery” was released in Japan and the U.S.
